Bernhardt Andrew Seifert Sr., age 75, of 753 S. 78th St., passed away Monday p.m. at his residence after a brief illness.
Mr. Seifert was born in Germanay and was brought to this country by his family when he was 6 years old. Except for the 10 or 12 years during the lae 20's and early 30's when he lived in Cullman, he had made his home in Birmingham.
Mr. Seifert was a skilled cabinet maker, furniture refinisher, and upholsterer. Mr. Seifert was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Mr. Seifert is survived by his wife, Anna Adella Eckstein Seifert; 3 daughters, Mrs. C.L. Rohling (Pauline Seifert Rohling), Mrs. L.B. Skinner (Bertha Annie Seifert Skinner), both of Birmingham, and Mrs. N.R. Cornelius (Louise Seifert Cornelius) of Cullman; two sons, Bernhardt Andrew Seifert Jr., and Erwin Paul Seifert, both of Birmingham; two brothers, Henry & Herbert Seifert; two sisters, Mrs. A.M. Lucky (Albertine Martha Seifert Lucky) and Mrs. W.L. Schatz (Antonia Seifert Schatz), 11 grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Brown-Service Norwood Chapel, with the Rev. David Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Herman, Herbert, and David Schatz, John Walsingham, George Perkins, and Harry Gilmer Sr.
