Roy H. Kuglar, 88, was the son of the late Henry and Mattie (Gilley) Kuglar.

He married Gretta Marion Bee on March 10, 1962, in Cuyahoga Falls. She survives.

A veteran of WWII, he served with the U.S. Army. While deployed in Normandy he was wounded and received the Purple Heart.

Residing in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life, he retired from the Sun Oil Company and R.E. Carroll, Inc. in Akron.

Mr. Kuglar was a member of First Grace United Church of Christ in Akron. He was an avid traveler, fisherman and bridge player. He and his wife played in many bridge tournaments, and in his younger years he was also an avid hunter, rarely missing a year of going to Pennsylvania to hunt white-tail deer. He was an excellent shot and also enjoyed groundhog hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Jacqueline Eisenhauer of Kent, Mrs. Pamela (David) Brown of New Hampshire, William (Karen) Kuglar of Minnesota, Gail Kuglar of Akron and Valerie (Kim) Vanlandingham of Indiana; ten grandchildren; and eight grand-children.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; by brothers Lewis T. Kugler of Tehachapi, California, in 1983, Howard H. Kuglar of Elkton, Oregon in 1992, J. Wilson Kuglar of Seattle, Washington, in 2008, and Luther "Jackie" Kuglar in 1934; and three sisters, Bertha "Bea" Tribbey of LaMesa, California, in 1964, Helen Chapman of San Diego, in 1985 and Dora Rowan of Sanford, Florida in 1994.

Services were held at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls. A memorial service was conducted at First Grace UCC with the Rev. Robert Dreese officiating.

Internment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
