He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Groom, Texas, to Raphael J. and Annie G. (Hermesmeyer) Bohr. He graduated from the Independence school system in 1942.
On Nov. 30, 1946, he married Jaunita Lewis at St. Francis Catholic Church in Cherryvale. She survives of the home in Cherryvale.
He worked in the farm construction business with his two brothers.
Other survivors include his son, John Bohr of Coffeyville; five daughters, Patty Tharp of Purcell, Okla., Dorothy Bohr of Cherryvale, Cathy Sanborn of Tyrone, Okla., Betty Bohr of Cherryvale and Julie Drummond of Parsons; two brothers, Jim Bohr and Nick Bohr, both of Independence; a sister, Lucy Lucas of Nebraska; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons.
The service will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Independence. Burial will be at Calvery Cemetery in Independence. Visitation was on Monday at Potts Chapel, Independence.
Memorials are suggested to Cherryvale Public Library and may be left at Potts Chapel.
