William A. Adams, age 74, passed away January 18, 2010. William was born in Atlanta, Georgia, son of Rufus and Kathleen Couch Adams.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobby Ann Adams. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he was a career Military Police Officer, achieving the rank of SFC. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the local Golden Hawks Club of DeLand, as well as, the National Academy of Model Aeronautics Club.

He is survived by a step-son, Samuel Harley, step-daughter, Debra Patterson, son-in-law, John Patterson; sisters: Thelma Duckett, Marie (Joe) Blaile, Jerry Wilham, Dorothy Jenner, Mary Ann (Tom) Vanetta; brother, Joseph Larry Adams (Marie); grandchildren: Amy Anderson, Kimberly Harley, Donna Patterson-Gmuer; great-grandchildren: Amber Shelton, Landon Harley, Ethan Anderson and Benjamin Anderson.

Graveside services with Military rites will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Deltona Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Memorial Services at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church in DeLand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to D.A.V., 301 West Blue Springs Ave, Orange City, FL 32763.
