Wallace Baskett, age 78, of Tompkinsville, passed away Wednesday at the Monroe Co. Medical Center. He was born in Monroe Co., KY on Aug. 8, 1931, to the late Herbert Baskett and Gladys Leona (Gammon) Baskett. He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church, and a retired truck driver for Roy Anderson Lumber Co. He was united in marriage to Olene Head on May 19, 1951.
He is survived by his wife: Olene Head Baskett of Tompkinsville; two daughters & sons-in-law: Gail & Howell Combs of Tompkinsville; Joy & Wade Ryherd of Gamaliel; two sisters: Melva Blanton of Tompkinsville; Wilma Grinestaff of Shepherdsville, KY; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Baskett.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Burial will be in the Jane Yokley Cemetery.
