Earl D. "Bud" Hilton was born in Lafayette Valley, Minnesota. Delivered by Father on April 24, 1921 to parents Clarence and Wilhemena "Minnie" Hilton. He was the younger brother of Robert "Bob" (b:1915) and sister Evelyn (b:1916.) Raised in Hartford South Dakota, Bud was a member of the Hartford High marching band and served as Student Body President his senior year. In WWII, Bud was drafted and served in the Army Air Corps.
