Funeral services for Rodger Dale "Hoss" Moose will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Cross Brand Cowboy Church with the Rev. Sherman Mayfield and Pastor Mike Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Mr. Moose died Jan. 19, 2010, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 16, 1948, in Tyler to Troy William Moose and the late Tommy Nell Spier Moose. He graduated from Whitehouse High School. He owned and operated Rodger's Auto Glass and Upholstery business in Tyler for many years and was a member of the St. John Masonic Lodge and the Sharon Shrine. Mr. Moose was also an active member of the Cross Brand Cowboy Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and daughter, Rebecca Ann Moose.

Survivors are his wife of 43 years, Helen Staples Moose of Whitehouse; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Jean and Dwain Clark of Whitehouse, and Renee Wiley of Bivins; brother and sister-in-law, Eddy and Jacquelyn Moose of Whitehouse; father, Troy William Moose of Tyler; stepgrandchildren, Kenneth Brian Jones and Jerrika Weaver; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chad Eckles, Jason Roman, Wes Dobbs, Kevin Sampson, Jason Murphy, David Sampson, Dr. Troy Asken and Mike Huff.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Davis, John Murray, Alton Sampson and Charles Denny.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
