Alberta (York) Choate, age 76, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, January 15, 2010 at Signature Health Care of Fentress County.

Mrs. York was born July 3, 1933 in Jamestown, Tennessee. She was a housewife.

Mrs. York is survived by husband, C.J. (Dump) Choate of Jamestown; two daughters, Della Cargile and husband John of Jamestown and Debra Pittman and husband Bob of Old Hickory, TN; son, Tony Choate and wife Donna of Jamestown; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Jay York of Seabring, FL.

Mrs. York was preceded in death by father, Albert York; mother, Minnie (Crouch) York; and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Duncan and Bro. Gale Hartley officiating. Burial followed in the Fentress Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers included Joey Williams, John Cargile, Bill Bowden, Glenn Choate, Larry Huff, Homer York and Bill Sewell. Honorary pallbearers included Larry Rains, Bruce Kirby, Kenny Potter, Dave Cagel, Jim Soloman, Guy Choate, Robert Elmore, Danny York, David Roark and Junior Cooper.
