MSG (Ret) Edgar H. "Ed" Saunders, Jr., 83, of Pullman, WA., formerly of Columbus, GA. died October 4, 2008 according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Main Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, GA.
Ed was born in Ashland, VA., on January 1, 1926, son of the late Edgar Saunders, Sr. and Fannie Philbates Saunders. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Farris Saunders.
Survivors include his daughter, Suzanne Alexander and her husband Roger of Pullman, WA., a son, Steven Saunders of Atlanta, GA., three grandsons, Michael Alexander, Pullman, WA., Scott Lara of Ft. Collins, CO., and Erik Kullerud of Pearl Harbor, HI., and a niece, Annie Laurie Attmore of Virginia.
