Kathleen was born April 30, 1956, in Huron, S.D., to Clayton and Laura (Zell) Boyer. She attended grade school in Brookings, S.D., and graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1973. She graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, with a degree in nursing. Because of her illness, she left the nursing field to obtain an associate degree in paralegal. She worked for two lawyers, one in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and another in Iowa City. Because of her health problems, she retired.
Kathleen enjoyed her cats, Maxine and Luna, reading and having her friends stop to see her. She especially loved to have her Aunt Bernie visit her. Bernie visited often and always raised Kathleen's spirits and made her laugh.
Survivors include her mother, Laura Eidsness, and stepfather, Floyd Eidsness, of Redfield; one brother, Dan (Jean) Boyer, of Grinnell, Iowa; two nieces, Cassie and Sarah Boyer; one nephew, Jake Boyer; two stepnephews, Nick and Neil Herbold; and six stepsisters, Tammy, Mary, Sandy, Cindy, Sonja and Laurie. She also is survived by two aunts, Bernie Wiles and Gerry Starkey; and two uncles, Joe and Walt Zell.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
