Ben G. Forbes 1956 ~ 2010 Ben G. Forbes, born December 20, 1956 in Edinburgh Scotland to Ben and Elspeth Forbes. Relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1958. Passed away January 20, 2010. He will be sorely missed by all those who had the very fortunate opportunity to know, respect and love him. Ben attended Granite High School, graduated from the International Airline Academy and Salt Lake Community College and was POST Certified. He had a long and successful career serving the citizens of Salt Lake County as a devoted police officer and Detective in the Fraud, Burglary and Homicide Units. He received several Accommodations and Awards for his service. Most recently he was a Sergeant at the Federal Reserve Bank. Ben was a very loving and compassionate man, always putting his family first and foremost in his life. He loved all sports, especially golf and football, fishing, camping and those 'rides' with his friends on his cherished Harley Davidson. He was great with the barbeque and sure knew his way around the kitchen-spices, gadgets and all. Ben is survived by his wife, Teri; daughter, Lisa Welch (Brandon); grandson, Dyllin Bennion; sons, Joey and Benji (Heather and Kiki); his cousin/sister Tracy Solly (Jim); his in-laws Juan and Darlena Hutchings; and his brother and sisters in-law and their families; as well as Tyson and Missy. Preceded in death by his parents and little sister Sheila. A Memorial Service will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 West So. Jordan Parkway (10600 South) on Monday, January 25, 2010, 11:00 a.m. with Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to services.
