Sam E. Harry, 76, of 103 Bell Street in Glen Lyn, died unexpectedly Friday morning June 29, 2007 at his residence.

Born April 22, 1931 in oakvale, he was the son of the late Samuel E. Harry Sr and Caroline Crawford Harry. He was retired from Weyerhauser Company in New Freedom, PA. serving as thr Timber Procurement Manager. He was a member of the Oakvale United Methodist Church. While living in Pennsylvania he attended the TurnPike Baptist Church in Shrewsbury, PA. Mr Harry was a 32nd Degree member of the Shrewsbury Pa. Masonic Lodge and a Korean War veteran. After living In Pennsylvania, while working for the Weyerhauser Company for some 40 years, Mr Harry returned to this area after the death of his loving wife of 49 years Beatrice Jean Snead harry in 2004.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Odell, and Gilbert Harry; and three sisters: Eupha Smith, Myrtle Byrd, and Edith Whitt.

Survivors include one son: Gregory E. Harry of York, PA.; two daughters: Tamara Jean Hackler of Peterstown, and Tibatha Louise Ness of York, Pa.; three grandchildren: Benjamin Harry, and Linda Harry of York, PA and Steven D. Woods of Peterstown; one brother Charles L. Harry of Baltimore, MD.; and a special friend: Mary Smith of Cashmere.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 am Monday July 2 2007 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Bill Crawford and Pastor Olen Robertson officiating. Burila will follow in the oakvale Cemetary. Family and Friends will recieve friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm today.
