Born in a log house northeast of Freeport, Jennie was the eldest child of Albert D. Moore and Sarah A. Beall, named for her aunt, Mary Jane "Jennie" Beall Donley. She married at the Pleasant Mount M.E. Church near her childhood home on November 23, 1898 to David H. Arnold who grew up on a nearby farm. Jennie and David rented two farms before buying their own at Smyrna, Harrison Co., Ohio. After David died in 1939, her brother, Jim, lived with her for many years, helping her in a myriad of ways. In September, 1962, Jennie fell at the home of a daughter and broke her hip. She convalesced at the home of daughter, Lena Wilson, where she died. Her funeral was held at the Smyrna M.E. Church with burial at Freeport.
