Mrs. Frances Nelson, Pioneer Resident Dies.
Mrs. Frances A. Nelson, 79 years old, a resident from this community for 52 years, dies at 10:30 o'clock Sunday morning at her home, 316 North Tenth street. She had been ill for six months. Mrs. Nelson was the widow of the late James R. Nelson, who died many years ago. She formerly resided in the Siverdale locality ten miles east of the city. A native of Ohio, she came to Cowley county in 1880. A daughter, Mrs. J.J. Alsip, also a former resident of Silverdale, lived with her. Surviving are another daughter, Mrs. Nora Castle, of Duncan, Okla.; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Grant Funeral Home. Rev. C.D. walker officiated. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.
