Eileen (Kennedy) Sheehan, 89, of West Hartford, wife of the late Joseph E. Sheehan, died Monday (January 3, 2000) in a local convalescent home.


Born in Athol, MA, she had lived in West Hartford for sixty years.


She had been employed by Railway Express, Hartford, for thirty years. She was honored by the intensive Education Academy for her dedication to the mission for children with special needs. She was a member of St. Peter Claver Church, West Hartford, and the West Hartford Belles.


She leaves three nieces, Marianne Scanlon of Newtown, Maureen Stepeck of Kensington, and Bernice Myers of Kensington; two nephews, Francis and Raymond Sheehan of Northampton, MA; several great-nieces and great-nephews.


The funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Sheehan-Hilborn- Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter Claver Church.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, MA.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
