Mrs. Elizabeth Ackerman, widow of George Ackerman, died on Sunday morning at her home, No. 347 West King street, from the infirmities of age, being in her eighty-first year. She was born in this city and was a daughter of the late George Ackerman, her father and husband having borne the same name. Mrs. Ackerman was a woman of many estimable qualities, which endeared her to all with whom she held communication, and she was a devout Christian, who carried out in her daily life the precepts of her religion. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and was an active worker up to the time that failing health compelled her to relinquish such duties. The death of a daughter a year ago was a blow from which she never recovered. Mrs. Ackerman was the last of her family, but she is survived by two children, Jacob and George, well-known residents of this city. (The Semi-Weekly New Era - May 1, 1901)
