William Fred Goss was the son of Joseph and Nancy Jane Loftin Goss. Fred married Pearl Bernice Dice and their children were Myron, Calvin, and Howard.

SOLDIER, CIVILIAN DIE IN RIDGE ACCIDENT


Bakersfield (Kern Co.) Feb. 13---W. Fred Goss, 50, of Los Angeles and Private First Class Chesley H. Brile, 24 of Gardner Field were killed yesterday when the car in which they were riding got out of control and overturned on Highway 99, a mile and a half south of Wheeler Ridge.


Another enlisted man with them, whose name was not released by the army authorities, was injured.


It was not learned who was driving and no details of the accident were disclosed.
