Josephine Bivens, 95, Bushnell, died at 9:19 a.m. Monday (Sept. 19, 2005) in Prairie City Health Care Center.
She was born April 14, 1910, in Roseville, the daughter of Albert A. and Mary Ellen Casidy Richter.

She married Floyd M. Bivens in 1948. He died in 1984.

Surviving are a daughter, Martha Lea (and Foster) Lee, Springfield; a stepdaughter, Rosalie Ann Wagy, Avon; two sisters, Mary L. Benham and Mildred Fitch, both of Bushnell; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, five sisters and two brothers.

She worked 24 years at Mickelberry Ready Foods, and later worked for six years at Western Illinois University.

She was a member of Bushnell Assembly of God Church.

Funeral will be at noon Thursday at Bushnell Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Mark Gamber officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Avon Cemetery. Martin-Hollis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
