Winnie Emmaline Bilyeu Hawk was 93 years old when she died in her home at 1323 Second Street, Bedford, Indiana, on Sunday, July 31, 1960. She was born October 3, 1866 in Washington County, the daughter of Wesley Ervin Bilyeu and Eliza E. Blackburn. She married John S. Hawk on July 4, 1886, in Campbellsburg. In the early years of marriage, they resided in Northeast Township of Orange County, Indiana. She and John had seven children: Vyletta Armilda (Oliver) Kelley, Eunice Rosella 'Rose' (Crook) Love, Richard (Lurie Bowman) Hawk, Blanche Lucinda (Homer) Robbins, Lorene Myrl (Lowell) Bellville, John Calvin Hawk, and Marie Dora (Ted) Bolding. At the time of her death, she was survived by her daughters, son Richard, one half-sister Ola McGregor, 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Day and Carter Mortuary, Rev. Herman Campbell and Rev. John R. Buttz officiating on August 2, 1960. Flowers- Barbara Bellville, Jan and Jill Crutchfield, Sondra and Carol Bridwell, Veva, Becky and Beverly Kelley, Patty Smith, Jo Ann Lewis, Norma Mikels and Becky Robbins. Pall bearers- Charles Bellville, Doyle and Paul Love, Harlan and Randle Kelley and Garrell Robbins. The burial took place in Breckenridge Cemetery, Bedford, Indiana.
