Services Are Held
For John Sweeten in
Sulphur Tuesday
John E. Sweeten, 71, of Sulphur, died Dec. 12 in the Veterans hospital, Sulphur. He was a retired farmer and was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Methodist church and the American Legion.
Services were held Dec. 14 at the Bahner Funeral chapel with Rev. Dale Barnhart, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist church, Sulphur, officiating. Interment was in the Oaklawn cemetery.
Sweeten was born Feb. 28, 1894, in Center Point, Ark., and for the past 27 years he had lived in Sulphur. Most of his life was spent in Garvin and Murray counties.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Melvadeen Hottel of Sulphur; four sons, two sisters, two brothers, 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
