William Oscar Uphouse, 52, a Southwestern Bell Telephone Company repair foreman and a sergeant on the St. Ann Police Department, died unexpectedly yesterday morning. He apparently suffered a heart attack while at work and was pronounced dead at St. Mary's Hospital.
Sgt. Uphouse was a chief warrant officer in the United States Navy during World War II. He lived at 10100 St. Katherine Lane, St. Ann.
William married Orell Evelyn Nothaker-- later married Katherine Harbaugh.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Katherine Harbaugh Uphouse; two daughters,
Mrs. Jacqueline Ann Taylor and Mrs. Billye Jeane Niemetz; his father, William Frederick Uphouse, two brothers, Harry Paul Uphouse and Earl Rex Uphouse;
and a sister, Caroline Elizabeth Ruby Shaw.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Collier's Funeral Home, 10123 St. Charles Rd., St. Ann, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
