He was a native of Randolph County, a member of High Rock Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Dixie Furniture, Asheboro.
Surviving are wife, Opal Bean Shaw of the home; son, Dink Shaw of Denton; brother, Austin Shaw of Asheboro; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
