SPRINGFIELD - Evelyn L. (Murdock) Roberts, 69, entered into eternal rest on Saturday July 9, 2005 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Evelyn was born on July 26, 1935 the daughter of the late Byron M. and Agnes L. (Campbell) Murdock. She retired after 25 years as a mental health social worker for the state of Massachusetts and was presently employed at Hulmes Transportation and the Springfield Republican. Evelyn was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Springfield. She is survived by her children; Arthur J. Roberts, Jr. of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Reginald A. Roberts, Patricia A. Lamb, Kathleen R. Roberts, and Cynthia A. McKee, all of Springfield, three brothers; Rev. Alfred T. Murdock of West Springfield, Rodney Murdock and Richard Murdock, both of New York; a sister; Adeline Brown of North Carolina, 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by a brother, Elbert Murdock and her former husband, Arthur J. Roberts, Sr. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 12th at 3 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 640 Plumtree Rd. Springfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Evelyn's family will receive friends at the Forastiere Funeral Home, 45 Locust St. Springfield, on Monday (this evening) July 11th from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Evelyn's family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Evelyn's memory to Heritage Baptist Church, 640 Plumtree Rd. Springfield, MA 01118 or the D'Amour Cancer Center, 3350 Main St. Springfield, MA 01199
