The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama Sunday, October 18, 1953: Clifford Carlysle Mason, 38, of Route 2, New Market, died at the Huntsville Hospital Friday night. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Hurricane Grove Church, followed by burial in the Rice cemetery, directed by Laughlin-Service Funeral Home. Mr. Mason is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ethel Mason; five daughters, Mrs. Frances Cagle, Mrs. Lois Reed, Mrs. Josie Ann Osner, Ethel and Doris Mason; two sons, Clifford and Robert Mason; three brothers, J. W., E. E. and J. D. Mason; one half-brother and two half-sisters. Active pallbearers will be Curtis and Otis Bice, Ray Fanning, Frank Campbell, Pickett Esslinger and David Sharpe. Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Fred Smith, Dr. W. M. McKissack, D. C. Bice, Will Cochran and Newt Miles.
