Christine L. Weede, 82, of Keokuk, and former resident of Davis County, died Jan. 24, 2010, at River Hills Village in Keokuk. She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Davis County, to Roy and Eva Christy Baker. She married I. O. Weede Jan. 13, 1945, in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death June 18, 2008. Christine worked at the Davis County Hospital as a nurse's aide for 28 years. She was a member of the Stiles Christian Church and enjoyed sewing, crafts and volunteering.She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Gene) Proctor of Keokuk, Diana Jones of LeRoy, Ill., Jane (J.) Cook of Jacksonville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Helen) Baker of Des Moines; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Christy of Mountain Home, Ark.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son-in-law, Gary Jones.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield; Pastors Matt Proctor, J. Cook, Justin Cook and Kramer Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Inskeep Cemetery in Davis County. Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. Tuesday with the family present to greet friends 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Stiles Christian Church.
