Edith Bond Scruggs passed away Sept. 5, 2009 at Montrose, Colo. Edith was born Nov. 16, 1924 to F. Otis and Ruby (Holcomb) Bond at Carriere, Miss. She spent her childhood in Gulfport, Miss., and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1942.The following year, Edith married Clifton L. Scruggs on Mar. 26, 1943 in Gulfport, Miss. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1995 in Wiggins, Miss. Edith was a homemaker, mother, sister and grandmother. She moved to Montrose, Colo. to be closer to family and had made her home until her time of death. Surviving family members include her son, Richard C. (Nancy) Scruggs of Gulfport, Miss; daughters, Terri (Terry) Amos of Lakewood, Colo., Sandra (Erin) Reed of Montrose, Colo.; one sister, Vaughn Dell (John) Ward of N. Hollywood, Calif.; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. At Edith's request, private family services were held. Arrangements were under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
