He was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Ramona, S.D., to John and Anna Brinkman. He married Velma Segerstrom June 28, 1941, in River Falls. He was a machinist and tool and die maker. He worked for Zollner Piston Corp. in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Meyer Manufacturing and Central Research Laboratories in Red Wing. They moved to Red Wing in 1952.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Masons, and the Elks.
He is survived by his son, William (Judith) of Kansas City, Mo.; and two grandsons, William II and James.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls.
