Born and reared in Decatur, Arthur was married to Miss Bess Patterson and shortly after the couple left for Denver, where Mr. Doty accepted a position as credit manager for the Texaco Co. They were divorced a few years later and a son, Loren, born to them is living with his mother in Denver. After spending 10 years in Denver, he was transferred to a similar position in the office of the Texaco company in Boston, where he remarried.
Besides his parents, he leaves a wife, a son, Arthur Jr., who live in Watertown, a Boston suburb. Relatives in Illinois include his sister, Arletta; Mrs. Walter Slay, an aunt, RR1,Decatur; Mrs. Fred Schultz, an aunt, Danville; and an uncle, John Stoewsend, RR5, Decatur
