Services for former Blairite Richard (Rick) J. Shaw, 38, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, who died of a heart attack at his home on November 1, 1986, were held Wednesday, November 5 at Hayhurst-Marlin Funeral Home in Broken Arrow. Burial was in Broken Arrow as well.

Shaw was born July 19, 1948, in Greenville, Pennsylvania, the son of Tom and Flo Shaw.

He moved to Blair with his family in 1962 and graduated from Blair High School in 1966.

He served in Vietnam from 1966-69 with the United States Navy.

He married Louise M. Anderson of Fort Calhoun on December 26, 1979. They moved to Broken Arrow seven years ago.

Shaw worked as a diesel mechanic for Cooper Energy Services.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of Broken Arrow; parents of Kingman, Kansas; one son, Ricky of Broken Arrow; daughter Amy of Blair; two step-daughters, Barbie Byfield of Broken Arrow and Terry Ann Shaw of Missouri Valley, Iowa; two brothers, Tom of Fremont and Dar of Blair; one sister, Lois of Fremont and his grandmother, Clara Rohr of Greenville, Pennsylvania.

The family requests memorials to be made in Shaw's name to the Fremont Church of the Nazarene.
