"Mrs. Sally Barnum, widow of the late Philo F. Barnum died at her borne in Bridgeport Wednesday. She was eighty-five years of age, and for some time past had been failing rapidly, and her death was not wholly unexpected. She was the mother of Mrs. D. M. Read, wife of ex-Speaker Read and besides her leaves one son, Mr. Philo F. Barnum of New York. The husband of the deceased died several years ago. He was at one time sheriff of the county and a prominent man in Bridgeport. "
