Virginia Anne Davis Brown, 81, formerly of 5881 Chesnee Highway, Chesnee, died at White Oak Estates Nursing Home Sunday, February 8, 2009. She was the wife of George Edgar Brown and the daughter of the late Camey, Sr. and Alice Norton Davis. She was a member of Chesnee United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society of Chesnee. Mrs. Brown was retired from Crown Cork and Seal Corporation where she was an Administrative Assistant. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Libby Hodan and husband, John of Arden, NC; two grandsons, James Arthur Hodan and Timothy Edgar Hodan of Arden, NC; four nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Edna Yount, Maye Robertson and Maude Lee Jolley; four brothers, Edward Davis, Leo Davis, Ralph Davis and Camey Davis, Jr.; and one niece, Patsy Anne Shepherd. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Chesnee United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Roper and the Rev. Morris Hollifield officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chesnee United Methodist Church, 409 Kentucky Ave., Chesnee, SC 29323.
