Funeral service for Bertha Lee Lunsford, 93, of Garrison, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors in Nacogdoches, Texas. James O. Johnson will be officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Garrison, Texas. Bertha passed away January 26, 2010, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was born to Silas and Margaret Bell, August 13, 1916, in Garrison, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Garrison and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. She was married for more than 60 years to Claude Lunsford, and she was by his side in everything he did. She liked vegetable gardening and always looked forward to her spring garden and sharing with friends. Sunday family dinners prepared by her were treasured by her son and grandkids. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her great-grandsons, Collen and Kase.Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Margaret Bell; husband, Claude; three sisters; and three brothers. She is survived by her son, Danny Lunsford and wife, Dena, of Nacogdoches, Texas; two grandsons, Greg Lunsford and wife, Lindsay, and Dan "Snapper" Lunsford, both of Nacogdoches, Texas. She is also survived by her two great-grandsons, Collen and Kase Lunsford of Nacogdoches, Texas. Pallbearers will be Bertha's nephews.Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
