DOVER - Jim Roberson "J.R.", 85, of Dover, Florida, departed this life on Monday, January 25, 2010 due to Alzheimer's.
He was veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII, and was a devout Christian and affiliated with the Southern Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Lurlean Dixon and his grandchild Scott Dieter. He is survived by his children Sara Hopstetter (Jim), Tommy Dixon (Pat), and Sue Dieter; brothers Rufus Dixon, Robert Dixon, Roy Dixon, and Delma Dixon; sisters Lillian Deese and Jemima Bond; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation on Thursday, January 29 from 6 - 8:00 P.M. at Hopewell Funeral Home, 6005 SR 39 S, Plant City, where services will be held on Friday, January 30 at 2:30 P.M. Interment to follow at Hopewell Memorial Gardens, Plant City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 96011, WDC 20090.
