In the name of God Amen, I Charles Allison of Brook Co Virginia being advanced in life calling to mind its shortness and uncertainty and being of sound mind memory and judgement do make this my last will and testament in way and manner as follows Viz I give and bequeath my precious and immortal soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent and christian like manner. As to my wordly state I give and dispose in the following manner Viz I give and bequest to my well beloved wife Elizabeth after my just and lawful debts and funeral expenses are paid all of my personal estate, the third of the grain that is raised on my estate farm ( the same that I now receive ) with the undisturbed use and occupancy of the dwelling house this in during her natural life time and at her death what property remained is to be equall divided among all my children. I give and bequeath to my sons Thomas and Jonathan the Cowan farm to be equally divided between them by Thomas paying my daughter Prush one hundred dollars at the death of my said wife and Jonathan paying at the same time to my daughter Elinor one hundred dollars. I give and bequeath to my son William, the farm I live on containing 247 acres by paying my daugther Mary one hundred dollars at the death of my said wife. And I do hereby constitute and appoint my sons Thomas and William as executors to this my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills testaments and bequests by me heretofore made and declare this to be my last will and testament In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of September AD one thousand eight hundred and forty five in presence of us who at my request subscribe our names as witness.

I do certify that the foregoing is the last will and testament of Charles Allison deceased as was proven in the county court of Hancock at the May term thereof in 1848 by the oath of William Stewart and Benjamin Stewart subscribing witness thereto and ordered by said court to be recorded.
