10 OTU's Armstrong Whitworth Whitley V (#BD359) aircraft, with an aircrew of four, took off from RAF Stanton Harcourt on a night flying training exercise. Because the poor weather conditions made visibility very poor, BD359 crashed near the airfield, taking the lives of the crew.
