William Shultz, 66, well known retired gas field foreman, died suddenly yesterday, Monday afternoon about 4:30

Mr. Shultz's son, Earl, had moved his barbershop from the old Law building on North Washington Street to the former Funk building on Church street and his father was erecting the sign over the doorway when he was fatally stricken. Mr. Shultz was standing on a stepladder when stricken and toppled from the ladder.

His son and Wash Dunn, who were standing nearby, summoned aid and the stricken man was removed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival there.

Mr. Shultz was a native of West Virginia, but had spent most of his life in the Waynesburg community and was employed as a field foreman for the Equitable Gas Company until about two years ago when he was retired.

He was born March 28, 1880, in Monongalia County, W. Va., a son of the late Hiram and Delphia Yost Shultz. Besides his wife, Mrs. Minnie Phillips Shultz, he leaves the following children; Mrs. Thomas Barnes, Waynesburg; RD; Paul Shultz, Waynesburg, RD4; Earl Shultz, Waynesburg; Mrs. Keith Huffman, Uniontown; Mrs. James Kinney, Waynesburg; Mrs. Harry Coss, Waynesburg, RD; Alan Shultz, Washington, Pa.; and Edward Shultz, Waynesburg. There are 10 grandchildren. He also leaves one brother, George T. Shultz, Waynesburg; one sister, Mrs. Grover Linton, Waynesburg; two half brothers, John Shultz, Waynesburg, RD, and Edward Shultz, Waynesburg, and a half-sister, Mrs. Lydia Raber, Blacksville, W. Va.
