JACK R STROOT(HERMAN6 STROOT,ANTON H.5,JOHANN HEINRICH4,JOHANN THEODOR DIRK3 HOLTHUES,CHRISTIAN2,BERNARD1)
born second of four children(3 boys, 1 girl) to parents:
Herman and Bernice Recker Stroot.
A sibling, ROBERT preceded him in death.

JACK married Loraine Wade(b1922-d1981) on April 29, 1952, I believe they had children which needs to be researched further.

JACK was a salesman/consultant for Fletcher Typewriter Co for over 40+ years. Jack's first cousin, FRANK HUBERT STROOT(Clara Mae) also worked there for 44 years.

I met him 1975 in St Louis, while attending university. He shared with me that we were distant relatives; as did one of my elder relatives who told me he was of the 'Aviston' Stroot lineage(whereas we were of the 'Quincy' lineage). Jack gave me his business card that day(see attached in photo section}.
He was very cordial and a nice man.

.............Discussion of Ancestry...............
Since then, I've pondered about the connection; and eventually found a professionally done geneology report* on his lineage going back to the early 1700's; where we have likely common ancestral German roots(all born in Gersten and/or Lengerich Parish); of which their fourth generation immigrated to the states in 1843.

That report has confirmed the Aviston lineage; and that there is a likely connection, with the ancestor Johann Heinrich Stroot(b1818), who immigrated with an unknown brother of sorts, a Gerhard(vaguely, according to my grandfather, Clem) or a nephew(and unknown father).

The son of the first known confirmed relative(Bernard Stroot, b1810) to start the Quincy lineage, is coincidentally also by the name of Johann Heinrich Stroot, but born in 1849(my great grandfather), who immigrated at age 12 around 1860 with parents and siblings.

So, the missing link seems to be between Bernard(b1810) and Johann(b1818); although back in Germany there was a Bernard Albert Stroot who was married to a Margarethe Schomaker Stroot, who later married(c1814) a Johann Holthues(generation 3), of whom took her last name of Stroot, as a matter of convenience for her. This union begins the so called 'Aviston' Stroot lineage, with generation 4 immigrating the states in 1843.

To speculate, perhaps Margarethe and Bernard Albert had children, so that half siblings existed?
Perhaps, the true connection will remain unknown.
Until then, it appears this lineage is considered to be step-Stroots.

I share this hoping an 'Aviston lineage' Stroot will come forward with more information.
In the meantime, it is a work in progress with my updates pending as needed.

Thankyou,
Randall Stroot
Great grandson of Johann Heinrich Stroot(b1849)
