Willard Harve Wells, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.
He was born Nov. 2, 1926, in Scott County, to Henry and Alice Flaiz Wells.

A resident of Scott City since 1963, Mr. Wells was the owner and operator of a local iron and salvage yard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, George Wells of San Diego, and Bill Wells of Claremont, Calif.; two brothers, Malvin Wells of Scott City, and Ed Wells of Leoti; three sisters, Wilma Baker of Scott City, Charlotte Holmes of San Diego, and Aleta Barrows of Ness City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maggie Conine; and a brother, Howard Wells.

A memorial graveside service was at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City.
