REIDSVILLE Mr. James C. Webster Sr., 89, died Thursday, April 22, 2004.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Vanstory Street Chapel, in Greensboro, with Pastor Henry Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Webster was born on June 30, 1914, in Durham County, son of the late Robert Franklin and Annie Webster. He retired from Southern Optical Company. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Culler Webster.

Survivors include his son, James C. Webster Jr., and wife Doris of Asheboro; daughter Judy Webster Hyatt and husband Pastor George T. Hyatt of Reidsville; four grandchildren, Linda Levy and fiance Franklin Albright of Siler City, James Thomas Webster and wife Maritess of Summerfield; Jean Cherpak and husband William of High Point, Joshua Paul Hyatt of Reidsville; three great-grandchildren, Kimberly Walker and husband Jake of High Point, Sherry Smith and husband Christopher of Winston-Salem, Brittney Cherpak of High Point; two great-great-grandchildren, Sabrina Smith of Winston-Salem and Kara Walker of High Point.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Webster, Warren Webster, Jack Jordan and sister Sue Webster Bradshaw.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.

Pallbearers will be James Thomas Webster, Christopher Smith, William Cherpak, Jake Walker, Franklin Albright and Dickie Williamson
