Miss Mary Banister Shepard, beloved Decatur resident for 44 years, passed away Thursday evening at Barr's Infirmary in Nashville, Tenn., at 6:30 o'clock, following an illness of a month in duration. The body was conveyed to Decatur, reaching here this morning at seven o'clock. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at ten o'clock at St John's Episcopal Church, a church in which she had been an active member for years, by Rev Peter M. Dennis. Funeral cortege will leave the church at 12:30 Saturday for Birmingham and the body will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery. The deceased is survived by distant relatives residing in Illinois and North Carolina.
