HAROLD R. "DICK" BERKSHIRE, age 74 of Wheatland Township, Hillsdale County, MI, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Foote Hospital in Jackson.
He was born on April 17, 1931 in Quincy, MI to Leroy and Mary M. (Burger) Berkshire. He married Thelma D. Maxon on March 8, 1952 in Horton, MI, and she survives. Dick lived in the Hudson-Addison area all his life. He was employed at Bohn Aluminum in Adrian for 44 years, retiring in 1993. Dick was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of Hannon-Colvin Post #180 American Legion, Hudson, MI, and a member of the Adrian V.F.W. He owned and operated Dick's Welding, he was an avid card player, and an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed horse racing.
Surviving besides his wife Thelma, are three daughters, Becky Berkshire of Hudson, Penny (Parke) Atkinson of Clayton, Peggy (Harold) Biehl of Hudson, one son, Danny (Kim) Berkshire of Michigan Center, thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Ronald (Janice) Berkshire of Hudson, several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard L. Berkshire, four brothers, and one sister.
