From the front page of the April 19, 1929 issue of Batavia Herald; "Peter Tolf, foreman of the blacksmith shop at the US Wind Engine and Pump Company for many years, passed away Monday in Chicago, where he resided with his family since ill health forced his retirement.
Mr. Tolf is survived by his wife, two sons; Harry, Raymond, and one daughter, Ranghild, all of Chicago, also one brother, Gust Tolf and two sisters Mrs. John Peterson and Miss Christine Tolf of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Peter Swanson of St. Charles and Mrs. Youngbird [Youngberg] of Chicago. Funeral services were held in Chicago yesterday."
