Served in Company F, 10th NY Heavy Artillery and Co H, 6th NY Heavy Artillery. Was injured when he was drug by a runaway team of horses, he never fully recovered and would eventually die from his injuries.


Married Sarah Van Tassell who was born 1831 in Utica, New York.
