Mr. Abbott passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Providence Nursing Care Center.
Mr. Abbott was born on Sept. 20, 1928 in Barnesville, Ga., to the late Andrew and Mittie Abbott. He served his country in the U.S. Airforce for 23 years, where he served as an aircraft mechanic. Mr. Abbott fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Barnesville, Ga.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife, Mrs. Vivian Abbott, of Thomaston; a daughter, Mrs. Janice (Gordon) Gllacken, of Louisville, Ky.; three sons, Mr. Chuck (Karen) Abbott, of Tucker, Ga., Mr. Donald (Jan) McFarlin, of Thomaston, Mr. Steve (Cliffie) McFarlin, of Perry, Ga.; a brother, Mr. Lamar Abbott, of McDonough, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Lenna Mae (Sammy) Mitchell, of Warner Robins, Ga., and Mrs. Lillian (Jimmy) Hurt, of Hampton, Ga.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
