According to the 1889 Kittitas County, Washington (State) Territorial Census, James, Hattie, and their sons Lloyd, Dan & James were living in Kittitas County. Since Hattie died in 1889, it is possible that she died there and her body was transported back to Franklin County, Kansas for burial. More research needs to be done to prove where she actually died.
