Buffalo Township
Thomas A. Rossi, 68, of Buffalo Township, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, in UPMC St. Margaret, Aspinwall, following a brief illness.
Born March 28, 1941, in Tarentum, he was a son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Manross) Rossi.
He resided in Buffalo Township for the past 42 years, and was Presbyterian by faith. Prior to retiring in 2000, he had been employed as a systems analyst by Duquesne Light for 15 years. Prior to that, he worked for Gulf Oil Research, Harmarville, for 25 years.
He graduated from Tarentum High School in 1959.
Mr. Rossi was a social member of Ridgeway VFW and American Legion, Slovak American Club in Tarentum, and Outdoor Life Lodge, Fawn Township. He was an East Suburban Multiple Sclerosis committee member, and enjoyed raising money for MS. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn A. (Brashear) Rossi, on June 25, 2000; and a brother, Ira N. Rossi.
Survivors include his son, Thomas M. Rossi, of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Vicki L. (Steven) Schoedel, of Wexford, and Susan (Mark) Tambellini, of Allison Park; two granddaughters, Emily and Jennifer Tambellini; two grandsons, William and Thomas Gormley; a sister, Kimberly Murphy, of Allentown, Pa.; a nephew, Matthew Murphy, of Allentown; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Alice Brashear, of Fawn Township; and two nephews, Mark and James Brashear, of Fawn Township.
Relatives and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 until 11 a.m. Friday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME, Tarentum. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home by Pastor James D. Callahan, of Allison Park Church.
Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
