Mrs. Sargent was born in Warren county, and came as a bride to Ankeny in 1898, where she lived until 1941 when the Sargent farm southwest of town was sold to the Ordinance Plant Area and they moved to Des Moines. Mrs. Sargent passed away Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Hospital after a long illness.
She was a member of the Congregational Church in Ankeny, and the Ladies' Aid Society.
Survivors include three sons, Ray, Bernard and Wilbur, all of Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Ballinger, and Mrs. Leta Munro, both of Des Moines; a brother, Charles Deets of Earlham; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
