Daniel I. Offner of Webster Groves died Sunday, March 16, 2008.
Mr. Offner was the former commissioner of weights and measures for the city of St. Louis, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II and an alumnus of St. Louis University, 1942.
He was the husband of Gloria Stoops-Offner (nee Biehle) and the late M. Catherine Offner (nee Harris); father of Daniel Offner, Katherine (Craig) Skelton, Joan (James MacKay) Offner, James (Catherine) Christopher and the late Suzanne and Mark Offner; brother of Walter Offner and Ethel (David) LaPlaca and the late Mary Corrine McGiffin and Lawrence Offner; grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend.
Funeral Mass was celebrated March 19, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Webster Groves. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
