She was born May 18, 1888, in Perry Township, near Mount Morris, a daughter of the late John and Rebecca Cowell Johnson.
All her life was spent in the Kirby and Mt. Morris communities. She was a long-time member of the Asbury Chapel United Methodist Church, and of the Women's Societu of Christian Service of the church.
Her husband, Ira D. Haines, died September 16, 1970.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Irene) Martin, of New Paltz, N. Y.; Mrs. Milton (Aldene) Dunham, of Stamford, Conn.; and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Wiley, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; three sons, Claude Haines, of Atlanta, Ga.; L. Victor Haines, of Morgantown, W. Va.; and George Haines, at home; and nine grandchildren.
Two sisters, Miss Mildred Johnson, of Mt. Morris Star Route, and Mrs. Goldie Cannon, of Akron, O., also survive.
A sister, Hannah, and a brother, Charles, are deceased.
