Funeral services for Russell Wyatt Abernathy, 29, of Iowa Park were Friday afternoon at Loop 11 Church of Christ in Wichita Falls with Kale Martin officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery under direction of Tanner-Aulds Funeral Home. He died Wednesday at his home.
Abernathy was born July 17, 1958, in Dallas, and was a welder. He had been a resident of Iowa Park most of his life. He was a member of the Iowa Park Church of Christ and Wichita County Mounted Patrol.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; a son, Routy Wayne; two stepdaughters, Christine and Anita Lane, both of Iowa Park; his father, H.L. of Del Norte, Colo.; his mother, Betty Hazeltine of Wichita Falls; a sister, Gweneth Strermer of Blythville, Ark.; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. G.B. Childress of Denison.
